    Headline: Dell ramps up printers’ war on Hewlett-Packard 

    Dell’s has launched a series of aggressively priced printers and supplies, backed up by some timely words by CEO Michael Dell. 

    The expansion of its imaging portfolio targets small businesses by offering low cost printing. Dell’s new line of laser, photo and multi-function printers is backed by a range of flexibly pricedinkjet toner cartridges that the company says will save customers up to 63 per cent. 

    Following the announcement of the latest step in the firm’s attempt to slash away at Hewlett-Packard’s (HP) profit centre, Dell told Forbes magazine that if he could do anything differently, he would have gone into the printer business “much sooner, maybe ten years ago”. 

    Dell is still way behind HP in printer sales but is growing fast as the rivals chip away at each other. It is estimated to sell over four million printers this year while HP sold more than 43 million printers last year.
