Konica constructs third polymerised toner plant
    October 2005
    Konica
Minolta is constructing a third polymerised toner production plant to
meet the demands of the growing colour printing market.
    The plant,
due to start construction in September and with production scheduled to
begin in December 2006, will be based in Nagano, Japan. It will occupy
45,500sq m and the cost is estimated at ¥7.5bn yen (£0.03bn). The new
plant will generate around 7,000 tonnes of polymerised toner, taking
Konica Minolta’s total capacity from 8,000 to 15,000 tonnes.
    “The
new plant will allow us to continue to meet the market demand and
enable Konica Minolta to become the total cost of ownership leader in
the marketplace,” said Konica Minolta business technologies general
manager, MFP sales and marketing worldwide Shoei Yamana.
