    Kyocera Ozone-Free Laser Printers
    READING,
UK, – Kyocera’s new ozone-free A4/A3 laser printers for workgroups
maintain the company’s reputation for high productivity, economy and
    low environmental impact.

    The
new workgroup range comprises four low-noise, monochrome laser
printers, printing up to 45 pages per minute and offering double-sided
and even PC-less laser printing. All feature ECOSYS, the company’s
unique synthesis of long-life ceramic components, innovative design and
technological know-how that makes the lifetime cost of Kyocera products
lower than for any comparable machine.Throughout the range, print
quality is dramatically improved, thanks to a genuine 1,200
    dots-per-inch resolution and Kyocera’s new ‘shape-controlled toner’.
This new composition is made up of smoother and more spherical toner
particles that retain their shape when transferred to the page, making
printed text and images noticeably sharper and clearer.Users will also
discover a variety of enhancements in document handling and
convenience. All four machines feature a newly-designed space-saving
internal duplex unit for double-sided printing, and an extra USB socket
has been fitted for ‘memory stick’ devices, allowing PC-free printing
of PDF-format files. All can be run on a network, with USB2.0 and Fast
Ethernet ports fitted as standard on the FS-3900DN, FS-4000DN and
FS-6950DN models.Being designed for workgroup and departmental use, the
new machines offer industry-leading paper capacities. Paper is fed from
standard 500-sheet trays (250 sheets in the FS-6950DN), with modular
expansion trays boosting capacity to a maximum of 2,500 sheets in the
FS-3900DN and FS-4000DN. Even so, their compact design makes them
barely larger than many personal printers. One component missing from
the new workgroup range is an ozone filter. By applying a positive
electrical charge directly to the rollers, Kyocera has made the
machines completely ozone-free. Most competitors’ models still use
negatively-charged rollers which generate ozone.New casing designs and
an improved paper handling mechanism help to make the machines quieter
than ever. Timing along the paper route has been tightened to minimise
paper-feeding sounds, and insulation has been improved on seams and
joints. When the time finally comes to add new toner (a single cassette
of Kyocera toner will print up to 20,000 pages), Kyocera’s unique
cartridge-free design means the only items to be disposed of are an
empty toner container and residue bottle. This helps to minimise waste
and the keep down the cost of replacements. Even better for the
environment, these two items are made of just one type of plastic,
identified for easy recycling.Kyocera’s UK Head of Marketing, Tracey
Rawling-Church, said the new range offered the best combination of
quality and value in the workgroup segment. “Time and again, Kyocera’s
products are evaluated as being the best on the market, and I am
confident these new machines will pass the most rigorous of tests,” she
said. “Customers will find many new and useful features throughout the
new workgroup range, with no compromise on any of the qualities that
    make Kyocera products special,”
