HP gives Red Cross new computers
The Palo Alto Chapter of the American Red Cross is one of 100 community agencies that will receive new computers and technology from Hewlett-Packard Co.The local Red Cross will receive $17,000 in HP wireless technology, including five HP notebook PCs, one HP Tablet PC, one HP Pocket PC, a wireless HP digital projector and wireless remote control, an HP digital camera bundle and HP printer/scanner/fax copier.“This is like manna from heaven, since we were faced with a need for new technology for which we had no budget,” said Trish Bubenik, executive director of the Palo Alto Red Cross. The new laptops will allow the Red Cross to continue its operations if its offices are damaged in a disaster, she added. The Palo Alto chapter of the Red Cross serves the communities of Palo Alto, Los Altos, Los Altos Hills, Mountain View and Stanford University.
