Hewlett-Packard to add 200 original cartridge stores
    Mumbai,
Dec 2007 — Leading printing and personal computing brand
Hewlett-Packard today said it will add 200 more print cartridge stores
to its existing network of 1000 within a year.”We have a network of
1,000 stores covering the entire geography of the country and to
enhance footfalls, we will increase them to 1,200 within a year,” HP
Country Manager Puneet Chadha told reporters on the sidelines of a
conference. The company, which has undertaken a massive programme to
educate customer on benefits of original cartridges compared to
remanufactured or refilled ones, feels its growth will come from
customer retention and satisfaction.A survey by global research agency
TUV SUD PSB for the Asia Pacific found that in India, HP Original Print
Cartridges produced over 2.4 times as many pages compared to other
brands of refilled ink cartridges tested.”Ink cartridge buyers in India
are not aware of the reliability issues when using refilled cartridges.
This is why we commissioned the study to reveal the real hidden costs,”
Chadha said.India is one of the big markets of unorganised refilled
cartridges along with China and Thailand. HP in India has 850
registered supplier resellers and over 7000 channel partners, Chadha
    said.
