Lexmark Plans to Sink $16 Million into Upgrading Kentucky Facility
     April
, 2009 Office equipment manufacturer Lexmark plans to invest $16
million for new research and development equipment at its laboratory
here. The company says the updates will enable them to develop the next
generation of multi-function printers, all-in-one office equipment and
in-home photo processing, according to a filing with the
state.Kentucky’s Economic Development Finance Authority recently
approved a tax incentive package worth nearly $1 million toward the
project. That deal gets cut in half if the company doesn’t maintain
3,000 workers at the site come the end of this year.
