Brother Canada ranks first in Canadian laser multi-function printer (MFP) sales
DOLLARD-DES-ORMEAUX, QC, Aug. 09- Brother International Corporation (Canada) Ltd. is proud to announce that it continues to be the most popular laser multi-function printer brand in Canada. Indeed, according to the 2008 Hardcopy Peripherals data collected quarterly by IDC Canada(International Data Corporation Canada), Brother maintained its number 1 position in 2008 year-over-year, ahead of rivals Hewlett-Packard, Samsung,
    Canon and Lexmark.

“We believe our first place ranking over the past few years certainly proves Brother’s strength in the Canadian SOHO-SMB market”, states Martin Featherston, President of Brother Canada. “We attribute our strong customer service culture and award winning products in helping us to remain successful year over year”.

Evan Hardie, Senior Analyst at IDC Canada, continues: “Brother has held the #1 spot in the Multifunction Laser Printer (MFP) market in Canada since 2005. Brother has also outpaced the overall Laser Printer & MFP market in 2008, showing exponential growth led by its dominance of the Mono Laser MFP market.”

Brother is a worldwide electronics manufacturing company, with sales in over 100 countries. Key products include business equipment such as: Multi-Function Centres(TM), printers, faxes, and P-touch(R) labellers. Brother also markets a wide range of domestic sewing and embroidery machines, as well as semi-industrial embroidery machines. In 2010, Brother will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its operations in Canada. Established in 1960 on the outskirts of Montreal, Brother Canada is an independent subsidiary that manages customized marketing, sales and distribution services, as well as a customer call center for the entire Canadian market.
