XEROX: NEW HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE SHOWCASED At PC Expo in New York City, Xerox showcased the newest additions to its office product line: Phaser® 6250, PhaserTM 3450, WorkCentre® PE16 and DocuShare® 3.1. Supporting its commitment to provide affordable solutions to offices of various sizes, these new products will deliver value to more customers.
The Phaser® 6250 color laser printer is targeted for today’s busy medium-to-large workgroups that demand top speed and performance from their printer. Starting at an estimated retail price of $1,999, the 26 page per minute Phaser 6250 is 53 percent faster than the similarly priced HP LaserJet model. It delivers value that can’t be matched including impressive image quality, a 700 MHz processor, powerful Xerox management software, and higher paper capacity.
The Phaser 6250′s combination of speed, value and image quality make it easy for customers to choose to upgrade their offices with color. Speed is not sacrificed for quality, as the full 2400 dpi resolution and all three print modes are available at rated speed. The Phaser 6250 is available in five different configurations, giving office workers even more options when deciding which features best fit their needs.
As with all Xerox network printers, the Phaser 6250 is easy to install and has advanced Web-based printer management tools including CentreWare Web 3.0, PhaserSMART, and an enhanced version of PrintingScout, which alert users to potential printer issues and gives instructions on how to correct them. TekColor Dynamic Color Correction and Automatic Color Calibration ensure that people get the color prints they want the first time, every time.
Printing at 25 pages per minute, the Phaser 3450 black-and-white laser printer enhances productivity by bringing the capabilities of high-speed printing to individuals and small workgroups. It has 1200 dpi image quality and automatic two-sided printing on two of the three available configurations. The Phaser 3450 starts at an ERP of $549. It delivers other high-end features such as networkability, a simple and easy-to-use front panel display, and a large 500-sheet paper capacity.
The WorkCentre® PE16 is an affordable basic multifunction product for personal use within any size office. It prints and copies in black-and-white at 17 pages per minute at 600 dpi resolution, and it faxes at up to 300 dpi and scans at up to 1200 dpi in full color, which enables the WorkCentre PE16 to send color faxes.
It has a user-friendly interface and single customer replaceable cartridge for high dependability. In addition, it offers manual two-side copying, in which the front and back sides of a document are copied onto the same side of paper. It also comes with OmniPage® SE optical character recognition software. The WorkCentre PE16 comes in a single, all-inclusive configuration with an ERP of US$599.
Finally, DocuShare 3.1 – Xerox’s new version of its document and content management software, along with three new software add-on components – makes it easier for enterprise customers to manage information. Office workers can also easily create Web pages, Web logs, to-do lists and other applications to collaborate. The entry-level list price for a basic DocuShare system with 10 seats is US$4,045 and a 100-seat system is US$9,995, with add-on components priced separately.
The Phaser 6250 has a one-year, free onsite service warranty, and the Phaser 3450 and WorkCentre PE16 have a one-year return to depot warranty. Xerox offers toll-free telephone support and online customer support.
The Phaser 6250, Phaser 3450 and WorkCentre PE16 are available immediately through the Xerox reseller channel, and the Phaser 6250 and Phaser 3450 will also be available direct from Xerox.
DocuShare 3.1 is available beginning Oct. 15, through Xerox direct sales representatives, agents, Xerox Business Partners and TeleWeb sales channels.
