Data Vigilante Leaks 8 Million
Employee Records from Amazon, HP and Others.
A self-styled “Data Vigilante” using the alias Nam3L3ss has leaked millions of employee records from major global corporations, exploiting the widely known MOVEit vulnerability. For context, MOVEit is a file transfer software used by many organizations to securely share sensitive data, but a security flaw in the platform has been leveraged in this breach.
Nam3L3ss, who insists they are not a hacker, began releasing the data on Friday, November 8, 2024. To date, sensitive and non-sensitive records from 27 companies have been exposed, totaling 7,952,414 employee records. Among the breaches is a disclosure of 2,861,111 records belonging to Amazon employees, which the company has confirmed.
