California Cartridge Company to Meet With Members Of Congress And The California Congressional Delegation.

Visalia business owner backs e-fairness at Capitol
A Visalia business owner has made the cross country trip to the capitol as he joins a California group in support of legislation that would allow states to commit online companies for their share of the sales tax burden.

Brian Perry, owner of California Cartridge Company, will meet with members of Congress and the California Congressional delegation as they introduce a bill that will let states decide if they want to force out-of-state retailers to collect sales taxes like brick and mortar businesses do.

Last month, Gov. Jerry Brown approved a bill that would delay California’s recently passed e-fairness law until a federal solution is reached on the issue.

The bill, AB 155, is part of the state’s compromise with online retailer giant Amazon.com, which agreed to put its challenge of the e-fairness law on hold for one year until some consistency can be applied in every state.

Perry is traveling with small business owners from eight other states as they meet  U.S. representatives Steve Womack (R-Arkansas) and Jackie Speier (D-California) to lay some ideas on the table in the formation of a federal bill.

The group will show their resolve on the issue during a press conference tomorrow at the U.S. Capitol Complex in Washington D.C.

Brian Perry founded California Cartridge Company in Visalia around 12 years ago, selling and repairing ink, laser and multifunction printing devices as well as ink and toner cartridges.
