Q4 profit surge at Xerox
January 2005–Stamford (CT):Xerox
has reported a profit increase of 14.7 per Cent in its Q4, on the back of
increased sales in new Colour products, demand for document services and cost
cutting, the company said.
Net income for the Quarter rose to $226
million, or EPS of $0.24, from $197 million, or EPS of $0.22, in last year’s Q4.
Revenues went up 1 per cent to $4.3 billion from $4.29 billion a year
ago, including a benefit of 3 percentage points accrued from the weak dollar.
Equipment sales grew by about 3 per cent, while colour systems sales shot up by
21 per cent.
The company’s chairman and CEO, Anne Mulcahy, said: “In
2004 Xerox announced 40 new products, accelerated the growth of Xerox Global
Services by helping customers streamline work processes, and drove demand for
our colour technology
