    Cartridges 4 Planet Ark

It has been estimated that over 80% of our used cartridges are going
    directly to landfill.

    Jazzy with ink cartridges

Australians throw away more than 18 million cartridges every year.

This amounts to over 5,000 tonnes of material, including laser toner
cartridges, inkjet cartridges, photocopier toner bottles and drums, that will
eventually end up in landfill. That’s why Planet Ark set up ‘Cartridges 4
    Planet Ark’
    .

That’s why we want you to put them in our bin, NOT the garbage
    bin!

    Placing old printer
cartridges into landfill can cause problems for the environment.
    Planet Ark
is working with Close The Loop®, an Australian hi-tech resource recovery
company, to prevent these problems. The recycling technology is so advanced that
    nothing goes to waste.

    nearest cartridge recycling outlets

Almost 60% of the laser cartridges are sent to the original equipment
manufacturers for their remanufacturing or component recovery programs. All
inkjet cartridges, toner bottles and laser drums are processed to recycle their
    component materials into new products.

The component materials recovered include aluminium, steel, plastic, toner,
ink and foam. All are recycled into new products or reused in new applications.
Even residue toner is reused as pigment for colouring plastic products.

Australia’s printer industry is supporting the effort, with Brother,
    Canon, Hewlett-Packard, Lexmark, Konica Minolta,
Epson and Panasonic sponsoring this world-leading program and
covering the cost of collecting and recycling the cartridges.

‘Cartridges 4 Planet Ark’ is the ultimate printer cartridge recycling
    solution. YOU can get involved.

The public can drop off their used cartridges in specially marked boxes at
participating Australia Post, Officeworks, Harvey Norman, Tandy, Dick Smith
    Electronic and Powerhouse
outlets. A full list of collection outlets are
    listed at http://www.RecyclingNearYou.com.au

So don’t waste your waste – donate your Cartridges 4 Planet Ark.
