Reinforcing Canon’s 16-year ownership of the No. 1 market position in color copier/printer solutions*, the new CLC models each feature significant increases in speed, media flexibility and enhanced control technologies.
Designed to optimize production and increase profitability in serious on-demand print environments such as print-for-pay (PFPs), corporate reprographic departments (CRDs), graphics firms and commercial printers, the CLC 5100 introduces speeds up to 51 page-per-minute (PPM) and the CLC 4000 a 40 PPM engine**. Both the CLC 5100 and CLC 4000 offer Canon’s renowned image quality and dramatic advances in paper handling options, workflow management and economics for faster turnaround and increased Return on Investment (ROI).
Three key design “themes” define the new CLC models – speed, media weight versatility and output management – respectively demonstrated by the CLC 5100 and CLC 4000’s new delivery system, Paper Deck R1 and offset stacker options supporting media up to 253 gsm/140-lb Index. Both models also distinguish themselves from predecessors by approximately doubling heavy media productivity with speeds up to 22 PPM for 253 gsm.
CANON AND KPG EARN SWOP CERTIFICATION FOR CLC & KPG MATCHPRINT Endorsement Signifies the System Meets Stringent Quality Levels to Predict Final Printed Color Output on a Web Offset Press Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc., on Monday announced that it has gained SWOP certification for its Color Laser Copier (CLC) 1140/1180 when used with the Kodak Polychrome Graphics (KPG) Matchprint Professional Server and Publication base proofing media. The Canon / KPG certification offers graphic arts professionals significant opportunity to save money, reduce turnaround time, and be confident in color accuracy when presenting proofs and comps to clients at any stage in the production process.
SWOP – Specifications for Web Offset Publications – is the publishing industry’s premier standards organization. SWOP maintains recommended specifications for materials supplied by advertisers, publishers, printers, advertising agencies, and prepress service providers to ensure color accuracy and the highest image quality in printed publications.

Delivering an unbeatable combination of exhibit-grade resolution, speed and configuration advancements – the new W8200 also represents Canon’s first large- format print engine to support pigment ink solutions with the imagePROGRAF architecture.
Engineered for superior performance and production, Canon’s new W8200D (dye) and W8200PG (pigment) devices inject several technology innovations into the imagePROGRAF line, including Canon’s PS Level-3 Compatible RIP, 1.07″ ultra high- density print head for brilliant color, 44″ media support and speeds up to two minutes for an A0-size printout in Draft Mode. AND EFI ANNOUNCE PRODUCTION ColorPASS SERVERS FOR NEW CLC ENGINES Canon U.S.A., a subsidiary of Canon Inc., and Electronics For Imaging, Monday announced the release of the new ColorPASS-Z6000 and ColorPASS- Z7000, the latest print controller options for Canon’s new CLC 4000 40 page-per-minute (ppm) and CLC 5100 51 ppm color printing systems*. These powerful new Fiery servers deliver maximum productivity and efficiency to print for pay, corporate reprographic and high-volume printing environments. Incorporating the most up-to-date Fiery S300 and S500 server technology, these feature-packed ColorPASS servers deliver the latest version of EFI’s Bertl award- winning Fiery System software. T/R Systems Introduces Digital StoreFront Express at Canon Booth Entry Level Web Submission Tool for Print Providers Helps Increase Level of Service to Customers T/R SYSTEMS, INC., a leader in developing innovative solutions for the management and production of digital documents, announced at Graph Expo the introduction of Digital StoreFront Express(TM), a web-based job submission solution for print providers. This new product enhances the customer’s experience when submitting jobs on-line, improves operational productivity and expands the services that printers can offer to their customers.
