Leadership Award to Vyomesh Joshi, HP Imaging and Personal Systems Group
Executive VPORLANDO, FlA—-The International Imaging
Industry Association (I3A), the leading global association for the imaging
industry, has conferred its prestigious annual Leadership Award on Vyomesh (VJ)
Joshi, executive vice president of the Imaging and Personal Systems Group at HP.
VJ received the honor at I3A’s yearly Spotlight Reception held Monday evening,
February 21, in conjunction with the PMA 2005 conference taking place here this
week.Awarded annually since 1980, I3A’s Leadership Award
recognizes those individuals in the international imaging community who have
exhibited the exemplary qualities and innovative vision of a leader. Recent
recipients of the award include Shigetaka Komori of Fuji Photo Film Co. (2004),
Friedrich Hujer of Agfa-Gevaert (2003), Philippe Kahn of LightSurf Technologies
(2002) and Daniel Carp of Eastman Kodak Company (2001).“We are very pleased to present this year’s award to VJ
Joshi,” said Lisa Walker, President, International Imaging Industry Association.
“From his R&D roots, through his years of HP’s digital imaging strategy
leadership, he has driven initiatives leveraging HP’s technology in inkjet,
laser and LEP printing that are helping to transform the consumer and commercial
imaging markets while nurturing innovation in new areas for HP’s digital imaging
appliances, infrastructure and services.”“I am gratified to be named the I3A imaging industry leader
for 2005,” said Joshi. “As the focal point of our industry, I3A has benefited HP
and all its member companies through its standards and initiatives. It truly is
an honor to be recognized by this key organization.”As executive vice president of HP’s newly formed Imaging
and Personal Systems Group, VJ’s charter is to better leverage the power of HP’s
portfolio serving the consumer and small and mid-size business markets. The
group encompasses everything from printers, supplies and digital cameras to
desktop and notebook PCs, handheld products and workstations.VJ was most recently executive vice president of the former
Imaging and Printing Group, with worldwide responsibility for all printing,
scanning and digital camera platforms. He joined HP in 1980 as a research and
development engineer for pen plotters and has held various management positions
of increasing responsibility through his 25 years at the company. VJ holds a
master’s degree in electrical engineering from Ohio State University.About the International Imaging Industry Association
