Ingram Micro to open first African store

2007 — Johannesburg (SA): Ingram Micro and MB Technologies Group, a
South African supplier of IT products, have formed a partnership that
will result in the opening of Ingram Micro’s first African store on 1
June 2007.The new Ingram Micro South Africa subsidiary will be located
north of Johannesburg, and will distribute IT components products to
VARs, system integrators and OEM customers across the broad Sub-Saharan
territory from South Africa in the south to Ethiopia to the north and
Liberia to the west.For Ingram Micro, the partnership adds another
corner of the world to its extensive global footprint and is further
evidence of the company’s commitment to expand into new geographies
with significant IT markets.Hans Koppen, president of Ingram Micro
