    Lexmark launches printer recycling effort in United States
    Company will pay to recycle printers returned by customers Lexmark International, Inc. has Created the Lexmark Equipment Collection Program, part of Lexmark’s ongoing effort to Provide customers with environmentally friendly alternatives when disposing of Lexmark products that have reached the end of their useful life. Consumers or businesses can obtain program details simply by going to the Lexmark recycling home page, http://www.lexmark.com/recycle.

    “Our customers want to do the right thing when it comes to the environment,” said Paul Curlander, chairman and chief executive officer of Lexmark. “The Lexmark Equipment Collection Program provides our customers with a safe and simple way to discard their used Lexmark printers without harming the environment.”

    The Lexmark Equipment Collection Program is the latest in a series of environmental initiatives Lexmark has launched over the past several years. For example, Lexmark is a partner in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Plug-In To eCycling initiative. The company also has entered into agreements with Envirocycle and Nxtcycle to participate in regional electronic-equipment collection events.
