MINOLTA: Cost of Ownership Calculator for MFP’s 
New Software Program Makes Calculating Total Cost of Ownership Accurate and Easy
Minolta Corporation Recently Created a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Calculator for Multifunction Peripherals (MFP) that its independent dealers can use to create customized TCO estimates and comparisons for prospective customers.
“In our industry, we talk a lot about how MFPs can save a company money while improving productivity,” said Bud Murphy, executive vice president and general manager, Minolta Corporation’s Business Products Group. “With the TCO Calculator, Minolta dealers can give their customers a solid TCO figure and show them the savings a Minolta solution offers over an existing setup or over a competitive system.”
Minolta’s TCO Calculator can be used for both color and monochrome sales opportunities and offers a number of different views. With the software, sales representatives can:
- Prove cost savings when purchasing a Minolta color MFP solution versus desktop color laser printers.
- Create a side-by-side cost comparison between a Minolta product, color or monochrome, and a competitive product.
- Show the cost advantages of leasing versus purchasing over the term of a lease.
- Create a customized TCO for Minolta’s current MFPs based on the customer’s specific document types.
“We think the TCO Calculator will be a very helpful tool for both Minolta sales representatives and prospective Minolta customers,” said Murphy. “It will help Minolta dealers secure new accounts by offering the customer information that enables them make informed purchasing decisions.”
The TCO Calculator is a CD-based software program available only to Minolta authorized dealers.
