Low-End Monochrome Copier Revenue in Decline
lyra research
From
2005 to 2010, revenue from sales of Segment 1-3 monochrome copiers
(speeds ranging from 11-40 ppm) will decline by an average of just over
11 percent per year. Revenue from sales of Segment 3 copiers (speeds
ranging from 31-40 ppm) will decrease the most, declining by an average
of 23 percent per year from 2005 to 2010. Declines in Segments 1 and 2
are not as precipitous. Segment 3 was hit the hardest by convenience
color copier sales in 2005. Prices for Segment 3 copiers are under
pressure from convenience color copiers and workgroup letter-sized
MFPs, and will decrease significantly over the forecast period.
Shipments are also forecast to decline by an average of about 13
percent per years.
