Office Depot Shifts Senior
Management
Office Depot Inc. said
Tuesday that new Chairman and Chief Executive Steve Odland made a number of
senior executive appointments, including naming the company’s finance chief as
president of international operations.
The
country’s second-largest office supply retailer hired Odland, previously the
head of auto parts company AutoZone Inc., in mid-March after pushing out Bruce
Nelson in October.
The company appointed
Chief Financial Officer Charles E. Brown at the head of all operations outside
of North America and said it has started a search for a president of North
American retail – a new position. Brown, 52, has been Office Depot’s CFO since
2001.
Office Depot also named Monica
Luechtefeld executive vice president of business development and information
technology and appointed Timothy Toews chief information officer. Toews replaces
Patty Morrison, who recently decided to leave to pursue other opportunities, the
company said.
As a result of the
realignment, seven employees will now report directly to Odland.
Office Depot shares fell 10 cents to $21.71 in
morning trading on the New York Stock Exchange.
