Rapid Refill Ink Raising Funds For Cancer Research Through An Extraordinary Race Across America
Rapid Refill Ink partners with local businesses to collect empty ink cartridges for cancer research fundraiser “Race Across America” in Bay City, Mich.
BAY CITY, Mich.June 2006 — Rapid Refill Ink, a company specializing in the remanufacturing, refilling and selling of inkjet and laser toner cartridges, is raising funds to support cancer research through the “Race Across America.”The “Race Across America” is a unique and extraordinary event in which cyclists race from San Diego to Atlantic City in a 24 hour a day test of athletic strength and endurance. Last year the members of the 2006 team won their division as part of a four person team. This year anyone can track the progress of the to-man Rapid Refill Ink “Making Cancer History” Team at http://www.raceacrossamerica.org.Rapid Refill Ink, located at 4118 Wilder Rd., is asking customers to donate a dollar or more at the time of purchase to support this extraordinary event and fundraising effort. All proceeds from this project will go to support cancer research at the MD Andersen Cancer Center in Texas. “Last year the team raised over $120,000. This years’ goal is to raise $200,000,” said Dan White, president of Rapid Refill Ink International.“Participating in fundraising efforts for cancer research is just one example of our commitment to our community and people everywhere,” said Gary Rechsteiner, local Rapid Refill Ink owner. “Local businesses are also helping with the fundraiser by placing collection boxes for empty ink cartridges in their offices. With collection boxes at 5/3 Bank, Citizen Bank, Graff Chevrolet, Harris-Bush Realty and Maier & Associates we are raising funds through the end of July,” said Rechsteiner.Rapid Refill Ink specializes in remanufacturing and selling inkjet and laser toner cartridges for printers, copiers, fax machines and all-in-one machines at prices 30 to 70 percent below those of OEMs (Original Equipment Manufacturer). Rapid Refill Ink is the only United States based retailer in the industry with storefront operations that utilize state-of-the-art technology and equipment to remanufacture cartridges. A typical Rapid Refill Ink store carries 1,100 different inkjet cartridges and 200 models of laser toner cartridges.
