Versatile Black & White Laser Printer Delivers High-Performance
Results

WEST CALDWELL, N.J., March O5 — Ricoh Corporation, the leading provider of
digital office equipment, today introduced the Ricoh (R) Aficio(R) AP610N, an
intelligent, monochrome printer that offers advanced image quality, seamless
network integration and comprehensive security options. The AP610N is a compact
desktop solution that is ideal for small offices as well as corporate workgroups
due to its expandable, easy-to-use features. Ricoh understands that time is
money and developed the AP610N to enable end users to achieve maximum office
productivity at a low total cost of operation.

The AP610N is engineered to improve businesses’ bottom-line results by
providing intuitive management utilities and a wide variety of connectivity
options, including a wireless interface. With a 500-sheet paper supply, in
addition to a 100-sheet bypass tray that comes standard and toner cartridges
that are easy to access and replace, the AP610N allows for easy maintenance and
minimized work interruptions. Additionally, the AP610N delivers fast
black-and-white prints at speeds up to 35 pages per minute, due to its precision
laser technology. Backed by a powerful 372MHz processor, and 128MB memory, the
AP610N is well-suited for peak workloads, providing a reliable and efficient
solution when end users need it the most.

Easy to install and maintain, the AP610N is also able to conserve valuable
desk space due to its streamlined design. Front access paper trays make adding
paper a simple process, and there are no side trays to get in the way.
Furthermore, the AP610N produces intelligent workflow by offering PDF Direct
Print and Internet Printing Protocol. PDF Print allows the printer to receive a
PDF file from a PC and print it without requiring access to Adobe Acrobat,
significantly reducing network traffic. For employees that are working remotely,
the Internet Printing Protocol feature permits them to print directly to the
AP610N, just as if they were on the local area network.

A critical component of the AP610N is its suite of security solutions that
protect against information security threats and ensure information is kept
secure and safe from potential damage or theft. The security solutions of the
AP610N include SmartDeviceMonitor, which allows users to encrypt print data via
Internet Printing Protocol, Network Data Protection Data Unit, that enables data
encryption that can properly recreate the data stream, guarding against
information theft, and a Locked Print option that suspends output until a PIN is
entered on the AP610N’s control panel, preventing others from reading or
removing documents sitting on the tray.
