    HP becomes big in Brazil
    Revenue up, everyone happy
MAKER OF PRINTER INK, Hewlett Packard, has reported Q2 revenues up eleven per cent to 28.3 billion dollars, compared with a meagre 25.5 billion in the same quarter of last year.Profit was 2.1 billion dollars, up 16 per cent from 1.8 billion last year. The BRIC countries (Brazil, Russia, India and China) grew strongest, namely 26 per cent in the last 12 months and all in all accounted for 10 per cent of total revenue. EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Asia) grew 16 per cent.HP Notebooks were in high demand, with sales up by 31 per cent. Desktops, however, seem to need a makeover as revenues stayed as flat as the earth in the Middle Ages. The company stoked its crystal balls and predicted that revenue will be somewhere between 27.3 billion to 27.4 billion dollars in Q3.
