Record Print Speeds for HP Inkjet Cartridges
Hewlett-Packard claimed to have achieved the fastest-ever printing speeds with a
new range of inkjet cartridges, according to a report on the online version of
    the British Journal of Photography.

The report said the new cartridges boast speed increases of up to 40 percent,
and that the cartridges use a new ink formulation that extends light fastness to
more than 100 years. “This has been supported by the results of internal HP
testing, which indicate that the new HP inkjet print cartridges for three and
four-ink color images printed on HP Premium Plus Photo Paper resist fading
longer than HP six and eight-ink printing systems,” the report said. HP is
currently waiting for results from Wilhelm Imaging Research for the inkjet print
cartridges for six and eight-ink color photo printing.

According to the report, the new ink formulations include dye-based cyan,
yellow and magenta inks, while the black inkjet print cartridges contain a new
pigment-based black ink, which prevents bleed between black and color inks in
    printed graphics.

The Gen II cartridges also feature a new design, which allows the prints
heads to sit closer to the page, the report said, adding that the cartridges are
capable of a greater firing frequency, which means that they have to pass fewer
times over the paper. In addition, the six cartridges in the range use advanced
HP Smart printing technology with ink level indicators and reorder reference
    sheets, according to the report.
