While the company has already been working with Wipro for software
development, it may partner with Infosys and TCS as partners to put
together packages for its ‘future products’ based on inkjet knowhow.
The high technology products being developed include the flexible
electrophoretic watch, radio frequency activated ID tags, super smart
cards, finger print sensors and electronic paper.
Briefing newsmen, Epson executive vice president & CFO Toshio
Kumura hinted that India would be the first option for company’s
software development to support a range of electronic devices being
evolved for commercial production during next few years.
Epson’s top management also unveiled the newly developed TFT-SRAM 16
bits microprocessor. The high speed, low voltage processor would be
used as a key component for the small, light and flexible electronic
devices being lined up by the company.
Kumura also unveiled Epson’s new tag line ‘exceed your vision’ to
reposition itself as being a company that produces more than Xprinters.
The other major products being developed and marketed by the company
include the watches, semiconductors, projectors and liquid crystal
displays.
