Printer group Océ profit slides 30%
January
2007Copier and printer maker Océ saw net profit drop over 30% last year
to €82.2m, largely due to production problems at its Digital Document
Systems (DDS) unit. Turnover was up 16.2% at €3.1bn.The DDS division is
responsible for some 70% of group sales. Chairman Rokus van Iperen said
the problems at the unit were almost fully resolved. In order to boost
profitability, Océ said it would be offering more printers from
competitors to its customers; a strategy which has proved successful in
the US following the takeover of Imagistics.
