HP extends planet partners recycling program in Eastern-Europe and the Middle-East.
    HP
today announced the expansion of its successful HP Planet Partners
Program to business customers across Bulgaria, Saudi Arabia and the
    United Arab Emirates.

Commencing on 1 July 2009, HP business
customers in these markets will have access to free, easy,
state-of-the-art return and recycling service for HP original print
cartridges, helping them meet their own sustainability goals whilst
also contributing to a wider reduction in plastic waste. No cartridge
returned to HP through the HP Planet Partners Program ends up in
    landfill.

Taking advantage of the HP Planet Partners Program is
straightforward – business customers simply go to http://www.hp.com/recycle/,
select the ‘enterprise & public sector’ or ‘SMB’ option as required
and specify the correct type of empty cartridges. They then receive a
collection box, which when full is collected by HP and taken to one of
its cartridge recycling depots for processing.

The turnaround time for used cartridge collection and delivery is just five business days.
    By
bringing the HP Planet Partners Program to the Middle East, HP is
continuing to deliver on its commitment to encourage more sustainable
business practices in these important emerging markets.’Environmental
responsibility has represented a core value of HP since the company’s
earliest days. IPG has made a strong contribution to helping companies
reduce their environmental footprint through landmark initiatives such
as the HP Planet Partners Program. With this latest expansion, we are
delighted to be bringing this service to business customers for the
first time in these critical growth markets,’explained Jean-Pierre Le
Calvez, vice president, marketing, Imaging and Printing Group, EMEA.

    HP
designs with recycling in mind. The company recycles its own waste and
offers customers the opportunity to do the same through schemes such as
the HP Planet Partners Program, a free service available in more than
50 countries, regions and territories. HP recently achieved a milestone
in environmental responsibility by recycling more than 250 million HP
print cartridges worldwide since the inception of HP Planet Partners in
1991.HP and the environment. For decades HP has been an environmental
leader, driving company stewardship through its HP Eco Solutions
program, which spans product design, reuse and recycling as well as
energy and resource efficiency.HP influences industry action by setting
high environmental standards in its operations and supply chain, by
providing practical solutions to make it easier for customers to reduce
their climate impact and through its research on sustainability
