    Ricoh opens $A3m Sydney Print hub
    Ricoh Australia opens Innovation Centre

    20, 2009:Ricoh has taken the wraps of a $A3 million Printing Innovation
    Centre (PIC) in Clarence Street, Sydney, one of five similar centres
    located around the globe.The new centre will function as both a product
    sales centre for Ricoh equipment and a 12-person software development
    hub.“Through our global network of PICs, we will be creating centres of
    excellence in imaging processing and digital technology that are
    located in key geographies,” said Les Richardson, Managing Director of
    Ricoh Australia.There are state of the art videoconferencing facilities
    and the promise of experts on hand to help customers solve any
    difficulties.Although Ricoh is keen to emphasise its more than just
    showroom, the facility will have all the latest of Ricoh’s systems for
    printing and document workflow on show.

    of the House of Representatives Standing Committee on Industry, Science
    and Innovation and Federal Member for Calwell, opened the centre on
    behalf of Innovation Minister, Senator Kim Carr.This Centre is a strong
    example of a multinational company working with local small and medium
    enterprises to provide innovative solutions for their customers,”
    MsVamvakinou said.”By working with local information and communications
    technology companies, Ricoh is moving towards a business model that
    involves providing solutions that enhance and extend the functionality
    of their products.Software developed at the centre will integrate Ricoh
    products into customer’s information technology systems across the
    Asia- Pacific region.”It is great to see companies such as Ricoh
    investing in research and development, particularly in the current
    economic climate,” MsVamvakinou said.
