    Staples International president resigns
    FRAMINGHAM,
    Mass. – Staples Inc. said Friday Peter Ventress, its international
    president, left to take the CEO position at an undisclosed U.K.
    company.Chief Operating Officer and President Mike Miles will assume
    responsibility for Staples International, effective Sept. 1.Ventress
    joined Staples when the Framingham, Mass.-based company acquired
    Corporate Express in June 2008.In May, the company said profit fell by
    one-third, as customers ordered less merchandise and spent less money
    on each order.
