FUJI XEROX CUTS TIES WITH ILLEGAL INDONESIAN LOGGING COMPANY
Environmentalists have praised Fuji Xerox for cutting ties with a big paper manufacturer accused of illegally logging Indonesian rainforests.
Fuji Xerox Australia says it will no longer be doing business with Asia Pacific Resources International, which owns one of the world’s largest paper mills.
Fuji Xerox managing director Nick Kugenthiran says fresh allegations of the company’s unsustainability clearing forestry land in Sumatra was the final straw after months of doubts.
Greenpeace and the forestry union both have welcomed the announcement, and urged other retailers, including Officeworks, to follow its lead.
