Nottingham-based IT company XMA has secured two contracts worth a combined £55m per year. The contracts involve providing computer consumables and electronic office supplies to central government and to universities and colleges in the UK.The government office supplies contract is worth up to £40m per year. XMA will be responsible for providing access to thousands of commonly purchased office products such as media, ink and toner across central government.

XMA’s education contract win was awarded by the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC) on behalf of the National Working Party for Computer Supplies and Stationery (NWPCSS) and is worth up to £15m per year. It is expected to run for four years.

Andy Davies, director of LUPC, said: "LUPC recognises the exceptional standard of service plus significant and sustainable cost-savings XMA can offer to the public sector. The major challenge is to reduce costs while also improving the quality of supplies for our member institutions and we’re delighted to be working in conjunction with XMA to achieve that mission."
