Xerox Rochester Jazz Festival headliners announced
ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Norah Jones is returning to the Xerox Rochester International Jazz Festival for the first time since its inaugural year, with Diana Krall, Dweezil Zappa and Grammy-winning banjo player Steve Martin also among the headliners for the nine-day early summer event.
Jones performed at the first Rochester festival in 2002 as her music career was taking off. The festival has grown from an attendance of 15,000 that first year to more than 180,000 in 2011.
This year’s festival will be held from June 22-30 at more than a dozen venues in Rochester, including Kodak Hall at Eastman Theatre.
Krall will perform on opening night, with Zappa set for June 26. Martin will perform with his bluegrass band, the Steep Canyon Rangers, on June 27, followed two nights later by Jones’ concert.
