Xerox’s New “Visualizer”Software ( Spyware )Tracks Top Tweets and Trends

Published: May  2012 It’s better to label drupa 2012 “the drupa” with the prefix of your choice, so try dipping into the Xerox “drupa visualizer.” This live infographic lets Xerox track and share the top trends being discussed in relation to drupa across the Twitterverse.

It works by capturing Tweets that carry vendor-agnostic hashtags suggested to Xerox by members of the graphic communications trade media. Its word cloud then displays the hashtagged terms that crop up most frequently. The visualizer also indicates how often attendees are using the #drupa tag in their Twitter postings, noting their geographical locations. The result is a continuous rendering of trends, themes, and talk both on the drupa fairgrounds and outside the halls of the Messe. The visualizer, live and updating in real time throughout the show, can be seen here. It’s also displayed on a screen in the Xerox stand in Hall 8B.
