Italian Police Bust Fake Cartridge Producers in Operation Dark Ink
Six entrepreneurs and two companies dodged over 250,000 in taxes
Lamezia Terme Italy – Police in the southern region of Calabria on Wednesday confiscated approximately 900,000 euro's worth of goods, property and bank accounts from two companies suspected of producing counterfeit printer cartridges and evading taxes. Six entrepreneurs suspected of illegally producing counterfeit ink and toner cartridges are being probed in the operation dubbed 'Dark Ink' that was launched in 2011. Police said that the companies also dodged tax payments of over 250,000 euros.
