In a filing Wednesday with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Kodak said it had reached a settlement with Ricoh that closes out a variety of legal complaints between the Rochester-based printing technology firm and Japanese imaging and electronics giant.
Those complaints had included a 2012 Kodak lawsuit claiming Ricoh was violating a patent license agreement with its Pentax camera business; an appeal of that case filed in April by Ricoh; as well as claims filed against Kodak in its Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
With the settlement, there are no open legal beefs between the two. The terms include a $43 million cash payment to Kodak, which Kodak said it has already received.
