Headline: Kodak sues Sony over patents
10 March 2004 – Rochester (NY): Eastman Kodak has filed a lawsuit against Sony Corporation for Alleged patent violations. Kodak claims Sony violated ten core digital camera patents issued by Kodak between 1987 and 2003. Sony insists it “has not violated any Kodak patent relating to digital imaging and will vigorously defend any allegation made in this regard”.
Kodak has more than 1,000 worldwide patents related to digital photography and is in the middle of a radical shift in business focus to digital imaging.
