    Australia’s Tonnex Celebrate 13Th Birthday

TOTTENHAM, VIC  – This November marks 13 years in business for computer consumables wholesaler; Tonnex International and according to Company Director, George Solomon, it has been a very exciting ride.

“It really isn’t until something makes you realise how quickly time has flown that you recall all the notable steps that have made us the business that we are today. It was only the other day that something reminded me that we opened our Brisbane warehouse 4 years ago, so when you think of this time in terms of what has happened since, it is quite exciting!”

Since 2007 Tonnex have expanded their operations to include a Sydney and Brisbane location in conjunction with their move to a larger distribution centre in Melbourne. “The last 4 to 5 years have no doubt been the largest growth period for us and with the current plans in place, we are confident that this growth can continue,” said Solomon.

Solomon believes that Tonnex’s future growth will be reliant on their ability to ensure continuous improvement in their logistics function. “The market is continually changing and J.I.T. delivery is becoming more and more prevalent, which is why it is important for us to continue to review our entire logistics operation to ensure we meet the changing needs of the reseller base.”

Upon reflection of Tonnex’s growth over the last 13 years, Solomon contributes a large portion of the success to customer service. “We are not perfect, I can’t think of any business that is. There will always be challenges and the occasional mistake, but it is how you treat your customers that underpins your success. Honesty & integrity is key for us, so being able to right any wrongs and provide transparency in your operations can determine the on-going relationship you have with your customers and I think this approach is what has allowed us to maintain such strong relationships with our customers.”

Tonnex have shown over their time in business that the company has a strong commitment to numerous charities, this year alone donating $40,000.  “We have always been committed to supporting the community and take a great sense of pride in our support of charities such as The Salvation Army and The Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. It is also very pleasing to receive such positive feedback from customers about our donations and through the course of these conversations for us to learn about the great work that many of them do in support of charity. It truly does give you a great sense of the hearts of so many businesses in this industry” said Solomon.

Solomon also acknowledges that the development of programs such as Tonnex’s customer loyalty program; Reseller Rewards have been key drivers for the company. “We have always been very aware of the importance of developing a total product offering and the utilisation of programs such as Reseller Rewards have provided a positive vehicle to compliment our core product offering with customer incentives. We now have in excess of 1,600 registered members on Reseller Rewards and all of our program performance indicators show that even as we approach the completion of our 5th program, it is still of great value for our customers.”

Another feature Tonnex have provided customers over this time was last years launch of Cartridge Finder, a free access website that allows visitors to find which consumables fit which printers, which according to Solomon has been a great success. “We get over 3,500 page views a month for Cartridge Finder which is a great testament to its ease of use and the value it provides for Resellers”.

Solomon is optimistic about Tonnex’s future and the future of the industry as a whole. “There are a number of industries that will face quite strong challenges in the coming years as a result of improvements in technology and changes in economic conditions, but I think that while we will see fundamental changes in consumer behaviour, the demand and requirement for the product will be there, it will be the businesses that can align their value proposition with the changing consumer demands that will prosper.
