    Remanufactured Toner Assembly Factory Launched in Ethiopia

    Toner Assembly and Manufacturing plc launched its toner assembly and re-manufacturing plant in Ethiopia last week. The company is aiming to market its products on the domestic and regional markets.

    The plant is geared towards the assembly and re-manufacture of toner cartridges, inkjet cartridges, and ribbon cartridges for Hewlett Packard, Epson, Cannon, Xerox, , Dell, Brother Lexmark, and Samsung products said Jazir Teja, Managing Director of the Company.

    The products will all be branded as Cartridge King.
    The company expects to produce 20,000 cartridges a month during its first year of production for the Ethiopian, Djiboutian, Sudanese and Congolese markets it announced.

    Toner Assembly aims to address the need for quality cartridges at fair prices which is so apparent on the Ethiopian market said Teja. The factory currently employs 50 people but intends to increase its personnel as it increases its production in the next few months he noted.

    It is expected that the factory will enhance the standard of the sector and allow for new products and production techniques resulting in technology and skills transfer according to Mahmoud Ahmed Gaas, State Minister for Science and Technology, Guest of Honor at the launch.

    The next step for the factory ought to be the full production of printer cartridges in the country he said. The toner assembly factory is located on a 800m2 plot in the Nefas Silk Lafto Sub District of Addis Ababa.
