Taiwan market: Laser printer shipments hit historical quarterly high in 4Q 2005
There
were 49,301 laser printers of all types shipped to the Taiwan market
last quarter, an historical quarterly high, according to International
Data Corporation Taiwan.
For
last quarter’s shipment volume of monochrome laser printers,
Hewlett-Packard (HP) had the largest market share of 52%, followed by
Epson with 25%, Kyocera Mita with 7.6%, Fuji Xerox with 7.2% and
Samsung with 5.7%. HP also led in market share for color laser printers
with 51%, followed by Epson with 35% and Fuji Xerox with 6
Last
year, the total shipment volume amounted to 739,853 for all categories
of printers and 167,657 for laser printers alone, dropping by 21% and
4%, respectively, from 2004. However, the shipment volume for color
laser printers rose by 18% and its proportion of the total laser
printer shipment volume increased from 17% in 2004 to 22% in 2005.
