Tech Data loss widens
August
2006 — Clearwater (FLA): Tech Data has reported a wider Q2 net loss of
$155.5 million, compared to a loss of $59.4 million a year earlier.Q2
revenue amounted to $4.94 billion, up slightly from $4.81 billion in Q2
2005.The company was subject to a non-cash charge of $136.1 million for
goodwill impairment as a result of the company’s performance in the
Europe, Middle East and export sales to Africa.Excluding these charges
and other costs, Q2 net income totalled $0.3 million or $0.01 per
diluted share.
