HP INCREASES  EMPTY INK CARTRIDGE COLLECTION WITH NEW VIETNAM FACILITY

HP extends green initiative in Asia Pacific
Hewlett-Packard (HP) has extended collaboration with the Lavergne Group for recycling ink cartridges to the Canada-based company’s new plastic compounding facility in Vietnam. The announcement comes close on the heels of HP crossing the 1-billion mark in manufacturing ink cartridges that incorporate recycled plastic from HP’s “closed loop” ink cartridge recycling programme.

The facility will be closer to the manufacturing sites for HP Original Ink cartridges in Asia Pacific and local sources of recycled materials, which will provide about 6% reduction in the plastic carbon footprint when the facility is fully operational. The Vietnam facility will provide additional capacity for HP to increase the volume of closed loop recycled plastic used in manufacturing ink cartridges.
