Canon Announces Resolution of Patent Infringement Dispute
LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Jun 2012– Canon today announced the resolution of a patent infringement lawsuit with UniNet Imaging, Inc. and UI Supplies, Inc. ("UNINET"). The resolution, reached in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, concerns certain toner bottle products sold for use in Canon copier and multifunction products (MFPs).As a result of the resolution, UNINET has stipulated to a Consent Judgment and Permanent Injunction from the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Virginia, which will prohibit UNINET from making, using, selling and offering for sale in the U.S., and from importing into the U.S., the toner bottle products.
Throughout the development, sales and marketing process, Canon respects the intellectual property of other companies and individuals and expects others to similarly respect Canon’s intellectual property rights. Canon remains committed to pursuing legal enforcement against those who do not respect Canon’s intellectual property.
