    Xerox Assigned Patent for Methods of Making Fusers

    Xerox Assigned Patent for Nanocomposites with Fluoropolymers and Fluorinated Carbon Nanotubes
    ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 2012 — Xerox, Norwalk, Conn., has been assigned a patent (8,285,184) developed by Kock-Yee Law, Penfield, N.Y., and Hong Zhao, Webster, N.Y., for "nanocomposites with fluoropolymers and fluorinated carbon nanotubes."

    The abstract of the patent published by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office states: "In accordance with the invention, there are printing apparatuses, fuser members, and methods of making fuser members. The printing apparatus can include a fuser member, the fuser member including a substrate. The fuser member can also include one or more functional layers disposed over the substrate and a top coat layer including a fluorinated nanocomposite disposed over the one or more functional layers, wherein the fluorinated nanocomposite includes a plurality of fluorinated carbon nanotubes dispersed in one or more fluoropolymers."
