Türkiye Fines Canon $1.1M for Interfering with Resellers. The Turkish Competition Board has fined the Turkish distributor of Japanese camera manufacturer Canon $1.1 million for interfering with independent reseller pricing.
Canon Eurasia was charged with violating Article 4 of Act No. 4054 on Competition Protection.
The investigation revealed that Canon Eurasia’s regional office interfered with the independent prices of Turkish Canon resellers on Canon-made products, including cameras and lenses. The board ruled in favor of the fine, resulting in an administrative penalty of approximately 38.3 million Turkish lira equaling $1.1 million.
