The manufacturing plant and equipment from Xerox’s former facility in Dundalk, County Louth, are set to be sold at auction following the closure of the site. The plant, which once produced toner for Xerox printers and copiers, shut down as part of the company’s broader restructuring efforts and declining demand in parts of the printing industry. Another contributing factor to the closure is that Xerox outsourced significant portions of its toner production years ago to China’s Ninestar, reducing the need for dedicated manufacturing capacity at the Dundalk site. With operations now ended, the factory’s machinery, production lines, and other industrial assets will go “under the hammer,” meaning they will be sold to the highest bidders through an auction process. The sale aims to recover value from the closed operation, while the wider Dundalk site—once a major employer in the region—may now be redeveloped for other industrial or commercial uses.
