A growing shortage of official Bambu Lab filament is causing frustration for many owners of Bambu 3D printers, as popular materials such as PETG High Flow, ABS, and TPU frequently go out of stock. The issue appears to stem from a combination of surging demand and production changes at the company. As Bambu Lab printers continue to gain popularity, especially after recent sales and promotions, the number of users consuming filament has increased rapidly. At the same time, Bambu Lab has been transitioning more of its filament manufacturing in-house, a move intended to improve quality and supply control in the long term but which has temporarily slowed production. The result is a supply gap where filament sells out quickly when restocked, forcing some hobbyists and small print farms to rely on third-party brands while adjusting printer settings to maintain consistent print quality.
