Brother Industries, the Japanese printer and industrial-equipment company, has raised its FY2026 net-profit forecast to ¥72 billion, approximately $451 million USD, representing about 6.5% growth from the previous year. The company also expects operating profit to reach ¥85 billion, up 9.2%. While Brother is widely known for its printers, multifunction devices, toner, ink and other printing supplies, its biggest growth driver is increasingly its industrial businesses rather than consumer printers. Brother expects expansion in machine tools and industrial printing to support earnings, as demand for industrial equipment and advanced printing solutions grows. Meanwhile, its Printing & Solutions (P&S) business is expected to experience lower sales and profit due to higher material costs and geopolitical and economic pressures. Brother’s Industrial Printing business is expected to deliver stronger growth through operations including Domino and Printing & Automation, helping offset weakness in its traditional printer business. The outlook underscores Brother’s evolution from a printer and supplies manufacturer into a broader industrial technology company, with industrial printing and equipment becoming increasingly important to its long-term growth.
