Konica Minolta to Set up New Polymerized Toner Production Plant
in Nagano
Tokyo – Konica Minolta announced on May 24 that it has
decided to make new investment in its production subsidiary Konica Minolta
Business Technologies and to construct a new plant in Nagano. With a total
investment of 7.5 billion yen ($70 mil), the new plant will manufacture
polymerized toner. It will have an annual production capacity of 7,000 tons.
Construction will begin in September 2005, and the new facility will
become fully operational in December 2006.
The company will address the
increased demand for polymerized toner, which is considered a next-generation,
environmentally-friendly material optimal for both black-and-white and color
printing.
