    DR-7080C Delivers on Canon’s Commitment to Affordable Office Color, Speed and Workflow Integration

    Canon U.S.A., Inc yesterday rounded out its comprehensive offering of high-performance DR Series scanners with the DR-7080C, a high-speed color document scanner designed for low- and mid-volume production users.

    Incorporating the state-of-the-art scanning engine developed for the newly released Canon imageRUNNER C6800 multifunction device (MFP), the DR-7080C delivers outstanding image quality with optimized throughput and ease of use. The DR-7080C is the first product to leverage both imageRUNNER and DR- SCANNER technology.

     New imageRUNNER C3100 Series and imageRUNNER C6800 Offer Convenient, Cost-Effective In- House Black-and-White with Occasional Color Production

    Building upon its position as the #1 brand in the U.S. color laser market*, Canon U.S.A., Inc yesterday unveiled two of the company’s more significant color-enabled imageRUNNER multifunctional products to date. Both the new imageRUNNER C6800, targeted at high-volume corporate environments, and the new imageRUNNER C3100 Series, geared toward smaller offices, cost- effectively produce black-and-white documents with occasional color for a broad range of working environments.

    The new imageRUNNER C3100 Series and imageRUNNER C6800 engines expand upon the success of Canon’s innovative color multifunction product line – specifically the Color imageRUNNER C3200 – a device that has greatly contributed to Canon’s solid leadership in the color imaging market space.     Canon U.S.A. Announces Availability of First Commercial MEAP Application
     Canon U.S.A., Inc. and longterm partner, eCopy, Inc., yesterday announced the availability of eCopy ShareScan OP (Open Platform), the first commercially available software application for Canon’s MEAP- enabled imageRUNNERs.

    With eCopy ShareScan OP, the industry-leading features of eCopy’s ShareScan solution are now accessible from within the control panel of a Canon MEAP device. Additionally, with eCopy ShareScan OP’s advanced administration and management features, administrators can manage multiple MEAP-enabled devices from one central location.

    MEAP technology enables Canon imageRUNNER devices to function as part of an integrated enterprise solution and provides the first opportunity to turn multifunction devices into true information “hubs” by integrating hard-copy operations directly into the workflow of enterprise software applications, such as reporting, administration, document management, ERP, financials, HR and customer management.

    Canon to Distribute EFI StoreFront Express
     New Job Submission and Procurement Software Improves Customer Service and Streamlines Print Center Operations

    Canon U.S.A., Inc. yesterday announced the company’s decision to distribute EFI Digital StoreFront Express job submission and ordering software. Digital StoreFront Express is a cost-effective, entry-level tool that enables print centers to establish 24/7 online customer service while integrating the flow of data from submission to production, effectively streamlining operations and maximizing print productivity.

    Canon and EFI Show new imagePASS Print Controllers
     Canon U.S.A., Inc., and EFI yesterday announced the pairing of Canon’s new high speed, color-enabled imageRUNNER C3100 Series and imageRUNNER C6800 with new optional imagePASS-E1 and imagePASS-D1 high performance print controllers using EFI’s Fiery X3e technology.

    These robust, color-enabled devices deliver output at 31 pages-per-minute (ppm) / 7 ppm (monochrome/color) and 68 ppm / 16 ppm (monochrome/color) respectively, and offer easy to use color copying, powerful color management tools and seamless network connectivity for corporate printing environments.

     New Print On Demand Offerings Broaden Customer Options for Managing and Customizing Prepress Production and Workflows

    Canon U.S.A., Inc yesterday announced several significant product additions and new features for the Canon imageRUNNER product line and for Print On Demand (POD) environments.

    Among the value-added POD additions are the Coverbind/Bindomatic in-line solution and the Smartboard 3.0 digital prepress software unveiled the AIIM / On Demand show in New York, an annual showcase of digital imaging technology innovation and strategic vision. Another notable development is the introduction of Canon ColorPASS-Z7400 and Canon ColorPASS-Z800, next-generation digital color servers that were jointly developed with EFI.
