Anonymous Toner Confessions From a Former U.S. Tier 1 Toner Salesman
the Hard Cold Reality OF being A Tier1 or Tier2 Toner Distributor With Hp and Other OEMs'
    By a Former Employee

As you know many Distributors in the past Imported OEM Toner Supplies from outside the Usual OEM Channels and outside the country and that was something that drove the OEM's crazy.  (Company #1) was no different than many of the other players in this industry.

What Changed?  The OEM's were on to them and many others, Brother. Hp. Xerox.  The OEM would warn them and then hang a carrot in front of them. If they played nice the OEM would offer make them a Tier1 instead of a Tier2 Distributor if they stopped importing Toner Goods from outside the OEM channels and outside the country.

This is the main reason why HP wants you to be an Authorized HP re-seller under their New Program. The program Hp uses is scary, it actually knows the End User drop ship address and Re-seller who sold those products.
So you have Authorized (Company #1) and(Company #2) Distributors going for each others throat.

"Hp calls this : Sharing is caring"
(At tonernews.com we call that breaking anti-trust laws).

When I worked at (Company #1) and we had the Same Hp promos a month later than at (Company #2) with the exact same information. So in a nutshell hp only wants the Distributor to continue to sell that Re-seller and same end user account.

"They don't care who wins, Because HP wins either way!"

Oh and let's not forget our good friends at Lexmark,  Lexmark and (Company #1) decided to resell the Lexmark Compliant(Reman) toner approved by Lexmark, licensed by Lexmark in hopes of getting in their good graces. This was explained to me in private and they called it A WORK IN PROGRESS . We sold Lexmark compliant approved by Lexmark reman toners for 2 years while the secret OEM talks continued, And Yes Lexmark Does sells Reman Toners in Droves, Guess the big secret was that lexmark sold reman toners for top dollar to wholesalers but no one else can Reman there empty cartridges or they'll have a legal sissy fit, Now that's total hypocrisy.

So the take for all this is basically, go along with the OEM and don't do anything that would make them think twice about your Distributorship,Control is everything!, The OEMS put heavy demands on Wholesale toner Distributors to be and to continue to be a Tier1 or a Tier2 Distributor and If they Don't sell enough, it can be taken away from them in an instant.

And that's the Hard Cold Reality OF being A Tier1 or Tier2 Toner Distributor With the OEMs',
so much for privacy? you would think that common honest business principals are important to all these parties involved in this modern day scam,
but the OEM's greed is obviously relentless.
