Another Bigshot Exec Just Left Hp Ahead of its Massive and Costly Split Up
    By Eugene Kim

Just about two months ago we reported that Bill Veghte, executive VP of HP Enterprise Group, was looking to leave the company ahead of its massive split off later this year.

On Tuesday, his departure was made official.

HP just announced that Veghte will resign from his position "later this summer" and will be replaced by Antonio Neri, senior VP of HP's Enterprise Group. It's unclear where Veghte is headed, as HP only stated he will "pursue a new opportunity."

Since joining HP in 2010, Veghte had filled in big roles for the company, including the COO and CSO positions. In 2013, he was named head of HP's $27 billion Enterprise Group, and most recently, was also reponsible for organizing HP's split off in to two companies.

Before HP, Veghte spent nearly a decade at Microsoft, holding various VP positions.

Veghte is the second top HP executive to leave the company in the past two weeks. Dave Donatelli, former VP of HP Enterprise Group, made his move to Oracle official earlier this month (after we reported it in March).

The management shake-up comes as HP is headed towards a massive split up that's estimated to cost the company roughly $2 billion. HP will break into two companies, one in charge of the enterprise business and another running its PC and printer sales, essentially creating two Fortune 50 companies with $57 billion in revenues each.

HP's breakup is expected to be complete by November. Current CEO Meg Whitman will head up the Enterprise side of the business, while current EVP Dion Weisler will oversee the PC/printer business.
